An RV specific GPS will have data on height restriction overpasses, such as low rail lines and road bridges in it, and will offer routing around them.

He mentions that the Northeast is full of low overpasses, and I have found a number of them in Illinois also.
Watch this video for what happens when you try to take vehicles that are too high, thru an eleven foot eight underpass. There are quite a few RV's in this along with cargo vans and semi trucks.
