Roadtrek Front Captians Chairs

I have a 1993 Roadtrek 21ft. The Captains chairs are about done. Cover is good but the cushion has broken and started to separate in one and the other the springs are popped up. Has anyone replaced the chairs? Where did you get replacements, Possibly another make?
or can these be repaired?
  • You can search your local yellow pages or whatever for "Auto Upholstery" or if you're feeling adventurous, search teh junkyard for replacement captain chairs from conversion vans. In most cases, they'll bolt right in with little or no modifications.
  • Go to your local car dealership service dept manager and ask who 'they' use.

They have a list of places they use for upholstery repair that they send their used cars out to.

When I worked at a dealership I saw just unbelievable repairs made to cloth and leather seats and just about everything else inside a vehicle. Just amazing what all they can repair and restore to looking like brand new.

You won't find these places listed in the yellow pages but your local dealership will give you the phone number to them.
  • I am calling junk yards today. I was also going to call an apostery shop. I took the covers off once and they are molded hard urethane. The are made like a flap piece with wings on either side and the wings are separating from the flat center, the other one is just getting mushy.
    thanks
  • I think RT used to make their own seats. The ones in my '99/'00 RT D190V were, anyway. They were wider and more plush than any factory van seat I've seen before or since. They had the same rather fragile-seeming upholstery as the all the other cushions in the van.

Jim, "Virtue is its own punishment."
  • Upholstery shop gets my vote unless the frames are broken.
  • Handbasket, you write "They had the same rather fragile...."

Reminds me of the paint on my 2005 190P top vs the GM paint on the Express Van, night and day difference.

I don't understand why they can't be about the same. Does the 'Fiberglass' have anything to do with it? Heck if I know.
