I think the E-Trek is ideally suited for touring.
1. You drive lots so the batteries get charged.
2. No propane or generator to use or maintain. You can go through tunnels that don't allow propane. No monthly exercising the Onan.
3. You don't need to hookup electric or water or sewer for an overnight stay even if you need the air conditioner or heat.
Really easy to use.
One caveat for "boondockers" is that you are limited by the amount of diesel in the tank (make sure to leave enough diesel in the tank to get you back to civilization). You are carrying less "fuel" for cooking, heating, cooling than an RV with a propane tank and system. Any RV owner can add solar.
