After looking at the E-Trek concept, and seeing more about it, some things are cool. However, because it is essentially a first generation model of its class, one is paying for that.
I hope the technology filters down to the rest of their line. I wouldn't mind seeing solar panels on their other models just as a way to keep the house batteries topped off. The EFOY fuel cell is also nice (especially for keeping the battery charged when using the furnace heavily when boondocking), but its usefulness is limited on a conventional rig that does not have the large amp-hour capacity that the E-Trek does.
Ultimately, I'm hoping that with better battery advances (one can read Slashdot.org to see doublings of energy stored per volume breakthroughs every couple weeks) coupled with fuel cells that can use propane/butane instead of methanol, it would allow more flexibility with the electrical system.
