In "1775's" reply to my question about RT's E-trek method he states that the "hot water heater is on demand electric" which means it will supply a continuous stream of hot water as long as you desire. As I understand sportsmobile water heater it has a 2.5 gallon tank, on demand water heaters have no tank. I doubt a 2.5 gallon tank (that is less than 40% the size water heaters in most Class B's) would work for many of us, since you would be showering with (hot?) water about the temperature of your outside fresh water tank in just one to two minutes. A shower consumes 2 gallons a minute and any electric water heater that I know of can't heat 2 gallons of water a minute with less than about a 10kW electric heating element.
maybe it's when plugged in not on battery.
Are you saying that maybe the water heater in a RT E-trek and Sportsmobile may only work when plugged in. No hot water but when plugged in, I don't know anyone that would purchase that arrangement.
