I have read the info on extended idiling, and then driving it to clean out the DPF, but I'm still not convinced that will prevent problems, and $3,000 for a new one is definitely not cheap. I would really like to know if MB is going to warranty it without making the owner jump through hoops. Then there is the new 5 min idiling laws, I know New Hampshire has this law. The E-Trek is not going to be a good option for anyone living out west, where the temps are over 80 for 6 + months.
I think I would also go with a gas engine, generator, and the other E-Trek tech that would work in a gaser.
