On this idling issue (about which I admit to knowing nothin'), if you watch the videos, they said that it was idling for about "30 minutes" to top off the batteries.
It wasn't suggesting that you had to idle it all night to run the AC or anything... or use it as one does with a generator.
I suspect that Mercedes has been involved with the design of these systems... since they seem to want to approve everything these converters do.
