Those underhood batteries are not the engine-chassis battery. It's under the floor on the drivers side of the cab.
Those batteries under the hood are where the optional 2nd factory installed MB battery goes if ordered. It's orientation runs front to back right against the outside fender area.
The one(s) in the E-Trek pics look like they run side to side.
