Roof Paint
I have a 1998 Country Coach. It has a fiberglass roof. The existing surface paint is faded and has a dull finish. I would like to repaint the roof with something with a glossy finish so cleanup is ...

I had to use 1000 grit sand paper to remove the yellow stains at the water line then the polishing compound (Meguires boat and RV). It came out good but was a lot of work. Someone mention Aquabuff for very heavy oxidation.Gjac wrote:
Fire up that is a nice job what did you use for a polishing compound?
Gjac,
I used 3M Rubbing compound #05973. But, just about any polishing or rubbing compound will work. It's a basic fiberglass roof and, it just oxidizes. So, with a little (or a lot) of effort, you can see it turns out pretty nice. After using the machine and the compound on it, I waxed it with McGuire's Cleaner Wax. It looks like that for, oh about, 3 - 5 months and then starts to loose its shine. At that time, I simply wash it down and, turn the stereo on and take about 1/2 to 3/4 of a day and put another coat on it.
Not many will do that to their roof. I take pride in my stuff so, for me to put a little effort in to keeping it nice is no big deal.
