A static load of 100 pounds is not the same that would occur when the vehicle is bouncing up and down on a rough road. As long as the box is large enough to spread the weight around so that it is not concentrated at just the mounting locations, it should be OK. Obviously you will want to secure it to the frame members and make sure that all penetrations are sealed.
