Getting ready to go out next weekend, want the RV fridge to be cold before we start filling it. Trees here in Texas are still sapping big time. Has anyone had an issue running the RV fridge on shore...

You don't want to do that. Simply untie or unloose the cover where the vent is and lift it up. We used our Springdale with the cover on all winter (at home in the driveway) one year. I made sure everything was tied down so it would not flop in the wind, but was able to use a couple 2x4x8's and propped up the cover around the furnace vents. Worked OK.
You can do the same for the refrigerator. It really needs to be opened, not covered.
