Where to start? There are not millions of 1200's out there. Moving the thermistor on one changes the temp less than changing the temp on the control one setting. There can be a 10 degree difference inside from the bottom of the door to the top shelf near the fins so 38 means very little until we know where. Besides the thin tubing, the design/size of a 1200's coils are much the same as a 6 cu ft unit. The NoCold recall is a joke and even after many revisions it still shuts units down when nothing is wrong. I've had to reset my Rev E with a magnet several times in the last three years.
A Whirlpool Model: WRT771RWYW 21 cu ft will fit by removing the top board that holds a 1200 in. It will stick out further than the 1200 as it's 32" deep. Unlike the Samsung which has DC compressors it will operate better with a pure sine wave inverter. Kilowatt Hrs/Year:364 for it and a 17 cu ft Samsung 197 is 446 which they no longer make.
