Seal Tech Water Leak System

I have exhausted all my Dicor caulk (many tubes) and Eternabond (many feet) options on my MH fiberglass roof. I am still getting leaks, primarily in the front cap area/possibly windshield. Some of the water may be getting into my ceiling (ouch..).
I had a Seal Tech test done about 2 years ago in Albuquerque, but what they found (2 small voids) did not solve the problem. Five years ago the manufacturer (Thor/Mandalay)rebuilt the front windshield due to a safety defect (NHTSA recall). The oldest leak started then. An Elkhart repair facility thought they fixed it too..but no.
So, many caulk tubes and service trips later I am considering another Seal Tech test.
We are currently in Maryland and are scheduled to leave for home in Custer SD June 24 (SW South Dakota). I researched Seal Tech providers on their web site and did not find any service facilities in Maryland I felt good about (I used rvservicereviews.com).
Does any one have a recommended service facility for seal tech along the I-70/I-74/I-80 corridor from Baltimore to Omaha? We kind of have to get back home by June 30 for a military-related ceremony, but could adjust if necessary.
P.S. I saw some Seal Tech posting on the Travel Trailer Forum so might post this there as well..wasn't sure if you could post on more than one Forum section at one time.

  • The old timers way of checking for leaks is to have one person on the inside while another person on the outside blows compressed air on suspected problem areas. When the person on the inside feels/hears air you know where the leak area is. This method is very effective especially with windshields. Worth a try, nothing to loose except a little time.
  • Thanks to both of you for ideas. I heard about the clearance light issue, but it has been so wet I haven't been able to attack them. Someone told me to remove them and put plumber's putty under each housing - and something to seal the screws too.
    Any specific ideas on sealant?

The rain has stopped for a while in Maryland....
  • Hank,
did they check your clearance/marker lights above the windshield??? I once drove a Peterbilt that leaked so bad through those the cutouts for those lights that you would have thought it was raining inside the cab when it rained outside!
