Security systems
I am a first time motorhome owner. We bought a used Country Coach and want to install a security system including the storage doors. What are good options? I looked at Simplysafe and Fortress.

- We full timed from 2002 thru 2012 and since then we still RV and snow bird with NARY a problem. Have we had thefts, sure, soda & beer left in a cooler setting on the picnic table in a state park, but I do not consider that a problem, just some young people looking for some cheap drinks. :) They didn't take the cooler, just some of the contents.
- I am going w/ dog sign. We travel w/ a Rotty mix. Thank you all for input.

a buddy of mine did that...sorta. he had a huge chain connected to one of those spike collars attached to his 5er alongside a very large bowl of water. this to give the impression that dogzilla was on the premises. he reports never having any sort of problem with thefts or intruders. cause and effect? you decide.- Put a "Beware of Dog" sticker on the door!

Still we do make sure everything is locked up tight when we leave and we have a ferocious YorkiePoo that weighs all of 9 pounds to defend the place.
X2 for us. in 31-seasons we've had just one theft at an Indiana state park and that was 28-years ago. take reasonable precautions, carry insurance and don't fret.- a neat little demo of the newer one

- GE Interlogic Corporation makes a Simon stand alone system, if you get the alarm.com cell monitoring it will work where ever you park it. you need 110 current to get it started, then you can run it off its battery for around 24 to 36 hour at a time. the battery is not a deep cycle battery but you can hardwire a larger better batter battery as long as you pay attention to the voltage requirements. The remotes just double stick to the windows. many options for add on, even a C02 wireless remote.
you would have to talk to a home security person to get one as they are not a over the counter item. wiil post a link to product info when i dig it up
