I don't know if all consignments work this way but on my sale, the dealer/consignment location bought the RV from me and sold it to the buyer. when the buyer showed up to pick it up when they filled the water heater it had split over the winter. inadequate drainage. when they advised me of this they also said that "since I was obviously an honorable man"...... I would pay for its replacement. :)
I of course did reimburse them but got a tremendous deal as they obviously didn't want to push things.
