The electrical outlets in the kitchen of my 2011 Ellipse 42QD are mounted on the underside of the kitchen cabinets....about 18 inches above the counter top. My toaster, coffee pot and other small kitc...

If the appliance cord is kept shorter than the minimum legal distance between a sink and an outlet and a tag is included saying not to use extension cords, then the manufacturers of the appliance have done all they can to insure someone does not try to clean it in a sink full of water while it is plugged in, etc.
