The electrical outlets in the kitchen of my 2011 Ellipse 42QD are mounted on the underside of the kitchen cabinets....about 18 inches above the counter top. My toaster, coffee pot and other small kitchen appliances have 2 foot power cords making it nearly impossible to plug them in and have enough cord left to place the appliances where I need them. All the owners manuals say:DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD WITH THIS APPLIANCE. I've searched Google and Amazon for toasters, etc with longer cords (3 to 5 foot) without success. How would you handle this dilemma? I'm craving some wheat toast and a coffee...please respond soon! Thanks!
If you don't want to take it apart and install a longer one size heavier cord, then go ahead and use a size larger ext. cord or a #14awg with 15amps capability cord, should be able to handle any of your appliances up to 1700 watts.
Not sure of the reason why they're so short, except to save a buck and what the case usually is.
