Shortening our MIrrors? Any help out there?

Do you happen to live where the roads are designated as 2-lane roads but are only really wide enough for one reg. sized vehicle and maybe, just maybe a bike?
That is how our roads here in WV are, at least some of the ones we have to travel on to reach the Interstate.
I am not trying to be mean, or argumentative, but just needed a bit of info about shortening those mirrors.
