A really LOT of people attack incorrectly when looking for advice......in that they only ask about the solution that first pops into their mind rather than describing the actual problem. As is the case here.
Now that we know what the real complaint IS......the solution is NOT to shorten the mirrors just because of a fairly short and temporary problem. As far as I know, all those wide mirrors will "fold" back if hit, or pushed, hard enough.....without damage.
So the solution to your local narrow lanes would seem to be:
Fold back both mirrors.
Find another style mirror that can be attached to the arm of the main mirrors when folded down to retain some rear vision.
Or install smaller mirrors on the fenders.
Or install smaller mirrors under the overhang; thinking about a class C there.
The best solution to your problem is to first fold back the main mirrors and then look at the "no mirrors" problem with a fresh perspective.
