OK final comment, I hope.
Part of the adjusting is SLOW DOWN; WAY down. Stop for a few seconds if necessary. Other drivers usually respect a big rig of any kind.
Take a few inches of the other lane if you have to.....while going really slow.
I've been on a tour bus in Ireland, where the roads really ARE only 1-1/2 vehicles wide in a lot of places (much worse than any paved road in this country) and the bus was able to go places that I wouldn't have tried in a car......slowly.....sometimes with cooperation of the cars in the opposing lane.
I think your unfortunate experience early in your RV "career" has scared you unnecessarily. At least I hope this won't be a common occurrence. Did I say slow down ?? :B
Oh and if you are motorcycle riders, remember to "ride it out". If the obstacle is not a live human being and isn't TOO large, it is often better to just run over it instead of swerving.
