I live in WV too and I know what your talking about. My problem is not usually mailboxes but trees that actually have grown out into the road. One road in particular I just fold the passenger side mirror in against the door. If I had the money I would love to get the tow mirrors that ford puts on their big pickups. They have telescopic arms so you can bring them in when not towing.
