My take on it, is if you will be doing all of your own mechanic work you don't need us to tell you what you are comfortable doing. However if you plan on having it professionally serviced, be aware that most mechanics these days have no clue how to diagnose problems if they can't plug a computer into the OBD-II diagnostic port which was introduced in 1996.
