I don't have a Ready Brake/Ready Brute system (Night Shift Auto), but I would pick that as one of the number one choices for simplicity. Installation is really just a matter of running a permanently mounted cable from the bumper, through the firewall to the brake pedal.
"mikestock"....from your description of your skills, the Ready Brute will be a simple install for you. The CRV isn't heavy and the Ready Brute will do a good job. It's an all in one system. Buy the tow bar and it comes with the brakes attached.
