1. Put snow tires (NOT "all season") on all positions on your coach. Why snow tires on the front? Because when the roads are snow packed or icy, being able to steer is a wonderful thing. If you can afford to have two sets of tires, having studded snow tires where allowed can be wonderful.
2. Even if you never intend to use them, carry tire chains and know how to install them. In the mountains of many Western states you are required by law to have them aboard. If you do have to use them, NEVER exceed 30 MPH with them on. A broken cross chain can inflict severe damage before you even realize it is busted!
3. Drive as though you were carrying nitroglycerin or eggs. Plan ahead. watch the road close up and far away.
