Slide doesn't stay tight to frame when driving the MH

We are new to MHs and have a 36' Valencia, Cummins, Allison, Freightliner, 2 slides. I've noticed that the bottom of the large slide tends to wander up to 1.5" away from the coach after several hun...

We cut a 2x6 to fit on the floor between they wall and the edge of the slide when it is closed. (behind the drivers seat) Lie it flat on the floor. We also put a note over the button to remind us to take the board out before opening the slide. Just another checklist item.
