I had a similar problem, and found a sheared roll pin (spring pin ) that locks the spur gear to the shaft from the motor. Just recently I had a clunking sound as well as the slide not coming out evenly. I found that the spur gear had lost 1 tooth, causing it to skip and not allowing the slide to come out evenly. It sounds terrible. I'm currently awaiting a new gear. Pick up a "long" pin punch set to get out the roll pin if that's the problem. Good luck
