I opted not to have a slide,just another thing that could go wrong or leak,it also adds to the weight of the coach which lowers the amount of cargo carrying capacity. I did not need that extra elbow room and I wanted something that was simple.
I decided that a rear bed and a lot of storage room is what I wanted,that is what I got in a small,27 ft Motorhome.
As for being able to get around, the ones on a Chevy Chassis will give you more room in the cockpit area and a swivel seat is an option making it a lot easier to get from cab to the house part.
It is all personal preference and what you can live with.
