Slide-out Toppers

Looked at video on the Dometec Slide Toppers. Looks like a good idea rather then manually sweeping off slideout top.

Anyone had experience with this type of after market product?

Thanks

  • We added slide-out awnings to our Class C Greyhawk when it was 2 years old. Camping World did the installation and we are delighted with the results. Even helps keep the slide outs aligned properly as they go in and out. And we don't have to clear any debris off the top of the slide outs anymore. Money well spent!
  • They are a good way to help keep the top of the slide clean and help keep the roof of the slide lasting longer. If you have one make sure it is installed properly - it should be tight and not sagging.
  • My RV came with them, and I wouldn't be without them.
As for the problems that BB_TX mentioned, flapping or water pooling on top, that tells me that they're not adjusted properly, when the slide is fully extended, the topper should be taught, and not sagging.
I have never heard mine flapping or had water laying on them.
  • People seem to love them or hate them. Major complaints are flapping noise in high winds and rain water collecting on top of them, primarily longer ones for the water issue.
