Any moving part can break. We have had two rigs with slide outs, no problems with any. We certainly do enjoy the added space. Yes, watch how you can use the space when the slideout are in.
Ours is fine but a friend can't open the frig. We have fun use of the galley. We have to crawl onto the bed when the slide out is in, and can't use the bottom drawers. Not an issue.
