Coolmom42, realize that what you read on these forums represents a minor percentage of all the people using RV's of one form or another. You tend to hear about the problems here, not the "hey, mine works fine". If slides were such a major problem, they would have been discontinued long ago as most trailers of any size now offer slides. Personally I do not have any slides on my present camper and it's just my choice. I have had them before on a large 5th wheel and never had any problems with them. Just sayin'.
