Hi Coolmom,
I would not want a slide in my climate. They do add weight, complexity and cost.
That said, they do increase the available "living space".
I would not want a slide where the propane connections and/or electrical connections needed to be flexible.
As someone said earlier in the thread, make sure the RV is usable with the slides in.
