There are many possible issues.. On my Damon Intruder (2005) The slides will not work with the ignition on, Nor are they supposed to, They work fine with it off however, There is also a key switch that has to be on on the main house control panel...
Mine are electric, the main slide is a power gear rack and pinion, it used to eat shear pins till some nice forum member told me what I was doign wrong, (Bolts too short) now it works great,, I still buy pins by the dozen though (Just not nearly as often) the pin is a 1/4 inch grade bolt,, You need to make sure the SHANK (Smooth part) of the bolt goes all the way through the square shaft, then use washers so you can tighten down the nut. If the threads are inside the shaft it snaps like a toothpick.
Different models were different as to ignition on or off.. But on mine I need Ignition ON for the jacks and OFF for the slides.
