Slideout noise while underway

Same Scraping/Rattling/noises complaint - recently acquired -lightly used- 2013 ACE 30.1. Forums indicate Schwintek motor/track rattling, or slide improperly installed. Suggestions are- some T-nut and bolt to replace the motor locking screw(found that); and installing foam around motor; and foam around long rod inside frame. All details visible on Lippert/Schwintek online pdfs. But NO info on how to make the fix. Any help from Doug, or owners who have 'had it fixed' Unit is days out of warranty, so DIY is needed.

On a 2012 ACE we had, it was considered a defect and was corrected under warranty (not sure how that applies to your used coach). Basically (going on memory) The track and it's alloted space was too small and actually hitting. It had to be removed, cut and reinstalled. it's been fine since. I think the harsher noise that you are experiencing was a defect vs the rubbing noise a lot of coaches experience are different. My slide seals on our 2013 29.2 still sqeuak a bit. I have lubed it a lot, moving to talc powder next.

On the used ACE you may want to conatct the dealer (if you bought from one) or contact Thor to see if they will warranty it.

I don't know about anyones "expierence" but I will tell you this, dry rubber will squeak. And the second poster hit the nail squarly on the head. My 2014 Itasca started the same rubbing noise 10 miles from home on first trip out. Stopped at camping world and tech came out with exactly same can and a ladder sprayed it on, rubbed it around and squeak was gone. Tech even gave me the can of spray. Some people try to complicate things to impress us with their knowledge, but it usually has the opposite effect.

With my 29.2 it's almost like a "clacking" noise like the seal isn't seated tight. I chalk it up to a huge room slide inside a larger room having a little movement going down the road at 60 mph. Sometimes it's the nature of the beast. On a Prevost, Newell or anything else I'd be fuming. I sort have reached a level of acceptance on my unit

It's a squeak where the slide touches the side. It's not really a defect. little lube, little talc, done. Ive heard the exact same noise on about 50% of the ones I've driven. And I am sure another large percent hadn't been driven enough.

Have you used the adjustible slide locks to tighten things up?

I've tried those, but they haven't worked on my sagging parts.

Does it have slide locks that come out and press against the side pulling the slide in tight?. Where these touch against the inside side wall is where our previous unit would squeak. After a little travel they would separate enough to squeak. Annoying as H^*(. I added a thin plastic spacer to the wall where the lock touched and no more squeeeeek. Just a thought and how long have slides been around anyway? 25 years??? Larry

Since the noise is directly behind the driver, don't mean to state the obvious, but is it possible that your driver's seat is making contact with the slide when you sit in it?
