I was doing some work on my RV and I seemed to have popped the slideout fuse. It slid out just fine, then I started working with some power in the steering column. I heard a fuse pop while doing it, but when I went to the hood every fuse looked to be in good shape. I havent checked the large square fuses because unsure how to. I have checked the under storage fuse panel by the galley door and all is good.Now when I hit the slide out "Retract" button nothing.Also curious, the AUX start button near the driver kick panel wasnt plugged in before, so I plugged it back it. When I hit the button i hear a click, but nothing more. What does that button do?I have a 2000 Minnie Winnie 31c (WF331C)

The aux. start button activates a solenoid that hooks the coach battery to the engine battery so you can start the unit if the motor battery is low or dead so all you will hear is the click of the solenoid.Most slides have a control module that has it's own fuse, I've found most modules located under the bed, by the ram and in one case by the converter.

Ive looked at the diagrams but get lost quickly. I found a module close to what you talked about in a storage compartment near the entry door, but that fuse wasnt blown. Im certain I heard one pop in the engine bay, but none appear to blown...Im really puzzled on this.And thanks, explains what i heard with the aux start.

Anytime our slide has blown a fuse, it has always been the 30A fuse in the fuse panel attached to the camper's Converter/Charger. Our living room slide blows a fuse from time to time. Hit the switch, I can hear the relay click, but nothing happens.-Michael

Checked the converter/charger. Only has panels for refer, lp, furnace, water pump and lamps. Only one 25, the rest are 15 and under and all look good.

It does have to have the brake engaged but does not require the key. Feels better knowing I wont need to pay someone to fix it.

Just curious, So yours has to have the parking brake set As well? I think all mine has to do is be in park

figured it out! when i plugged back in the AUX start button a ground cable from the parking brake sensor came undone. Once i plugged that back in worked perfectly.

Appreciate the help and outside the box thinking.

Just was playing on line with this, did you look for and inline fuse by the motor? sounds like that could be where it is.
Slide out motor, not coach motor

there is a panel in a storage compartment that has a fuse for the slideout, but its not tripped. so ill check for an inline or if a ground wire popped loose

Again, just spit balling, but the fuse box would be a ford thing, they don't have a slideout fuse (just ford van stuff). So I just wonder? if somehow the coach people wire it in with a inline fuse?

I checked with a multimeter the 20 odd fuses in the panel under the dash and 3 were shorted. I replaced them with proper amp fuses but still nothing. Ill have to check for an inline fuse somewhere under there too.

Just spit balling, but for the slide not to work when, it is not in park, is it possible, that somewhere there is an inline fuse, up under the dash? Because the slide does not go out, if not in park, I would assume that is a safety factor wired in by the coach manufacturer. And if you were playing with the column, maybe you caused a dead short and blew the fuse?

I thought of that too, so i released parking brake, reset it and made sure all connections to the brake were still intact. Display of "brake" still shows on the dash and gear is in park. Ive tried it with key in on ACC and ON, and key out. Nothing.

Stupid question, but after working on the steering column, are you sure it is in park? Don't think the slide will move if not. Don't know for sure but is there a fuse for "park" ? that you could have blew?
