On mine it was the gas tank vents had fallen out.
I smelled gas only when I filled up. Each time getting a bit stronger smell until the day I topped it off and there was a water fall of gas from underneath the MH.
Would find out later that is was the gas tank vents had finally came all the way out of position. :(
I was on my way down to Florida so what I did was when I filled up I checked the fuel gauge at what point the gas would start to come out below. Never went past that point so no gas came out. Had it fixed in Florida. They said they see it a lot on RV's. From all the bouncing on the road and pot holes.
It was my maiden flight new to MH's so I didn't ask and fortunately my friends where able to help me drop it off so I didn't stay to watch.
When I brought it in they crawled underneath it and were able to see that the vents where out so I'm guessing it's accessible.
If I remember correctly they charged me around $140.00 so they couldn't have been under there that long to fix it.
