I too have an Itasca with the Ford 26k chassis. I'm very surprised with the way it handles. I'd be fine just to leave it alone. Their stock front trac bar really keeps you from being pushed around. The downside to the Itasca is the box they put on top, not a quality product. There QC leaves a LOT to be desired.
I'd change out the OEM shock at some point, no hurry. I'm going to skip putting on a rear trac bar, but the exhaust is in the way anyway.
A set of Centramatics and I'm done. It really doesn't need a lot. I drive with one loose hand, no death grips at all, even when towing. It tracks nicely.
I just need to reduce the tire pressure a bit. According to michelin I could drop my front air pressure to the minimum 70psi and the rears to 85psi. But for side to side difference and added black tank weight I'll do 80 and 90. Since I can't weigh the four corners separately.
Fully loaded for travel and we still have 2600lbs of ccc left. Which includes a full tank of fuel, 1/3 tank of fresh water.
