I wouldn't rely on a credit card, a cell phone, and ERS.
Cell phones can't connect "everywhere in the U.S." - which may come as a surprise to many.
Just to make sure - because we take our Class C off pavement - we have a cell phone booster system in our RV, some systems redundancy, and some spare parts ... plus credit cards, Coach-Net ERS, and a (hopefully) properly maintained RV whenever we leave home.
I'd recommend carrying anything along extra that can leave you stranded, or facing a ruined trip hundreds or thousands of miles from home.
