Sofa Upgrade

I am looking to upgrade our sofa from a jackknife sofa to one with improved comfort in my Thor ACE 30.1. I am considering a "Tri fold" sofa available through Camping World and other retailers.

1. Does anyone have experience in replacing a sofa?
2. Is a tri fold sofa as comfortable as it appears to be in the add?
3. Do any RVs come with a tri fold as the standard sofa?
  • I'm looking at ordering a new sofa/couch right now. Think I'm going with a Flexsteel magic bed. Seems rv furnature is made with rvs in mind to fit through our doors. Not so much at home furnishings stores. From BradandHall website.

    INSTALLATION QUESTIONS

Q: Will the furniture fit through my door?
A: All Flexsteel furniture is designed to disassemble to fit through narrow entryways. In our 20 years of experience, we have never had to take out a windshield or window to maneuver a piece into a motorhome. For marine application all seating will fit through a 24” entryway, some disassembling may be required.

I would agree. If I were looking to replace a piece of furniture, I would find a domestic piece the same size. No rule that says it has to be RV furniture.

Per the tri-fold, just make sure you have clearance with the opposing side.

Installing shouldn't be much of an issue, getting it inside the RV is another story. Sometimes you have to remove a window or the windshield.
