I still think he should read Handy Bob, and it's too bad the mention of his name always derails threads.
The losses in a PWM system from other than the panel to controller wiring can add up to more than 2 volts. If the wiring loses another 2 volts, that doesn't seem wise to me. It's more critical the higher the battery's state of charge.
