Some more newbie questions?

I finally got my RV back from the mechanic and it's running great so now I need to learn how to use the appliances. I've been trying to find a friend that has an RV to come and walk through these things with me but I'm not havin much luck finding one. Do you have to light the refrigerator, hot water tank and stove pilots or are they auto light when the gas is turned on? This next statement is probably a given but I'm assuming I should take the RV to a local RV park and hook it up to see if the starage tanks have anything in them and maybe flush them out at that time, correct?

  • There are so many variables as to what you got and weather or not it's newer enough to have automatic ignition or pilot lights or automatic switching between the two, that you would be best to look up by the model and part number of the appliance, either the manual online or as said above a video on youtube. Or you could take it to a dealer/service station and have them walk you through it. I haven't used it and hate to make plugs on here but camping world offers this service either discounted or free with a good sam membership. They will also allow you to dump there for free with the membership.
  • Search YouTube.com videos for virtually any subject you can think of. Example: "lighting an RV stove"... will probably turn up a zillion videos. Try it. See if this helps.
