We carry a spare. Would not consider traveling without one. Also carry a tire wrench, proper jack, and torque wrench. The spare is 2yrs old.
At this point I can still replace a tire if we have a flat. At some point that will change, but will still carry a spare. As some others have stated, the vehicle responding may not have the correct size tire for my rig and if they do, the price may be pretty high, plus could be sitting for some time waiting for service to arrive.
If I was traveling without a spare it would only be in areas where I had cell coverage and on paved roads. That is not a problem for some.
