I can't commenton the switch from Lexor to Excel but we have the Excel TS and the spare is at its original location under the belly at the rear. You use the spade end of the wheel wrench to turn a screw that lowers the spare to the ground, and raise it up afterwards. The opening to insert the wrench is hidden behind the rear doors and covered with a black rubber flap.
