The diesel option for the Dodge (if they ever become available) is $3,350 according to the price sheet. The Chevy diesel upgrade is $11,279. Ford no longer offers a diesel. This means that even though the base Ford,Chevy and Dodge vans base prices are very similar, the Dodge will ultimately have the MPG advantage for relatively little extra cost. I ofcourse understand that the Ford and Chevy are slightly different animals but for the purposes of getting a small footprint rv with great mpg at a reasonable price this should be a very good alternative to a currently small choice set. All of my comments are based upon the hope that it will be a reliable vehicle.
Ford is going to have a 5cyl diesel in the Transit. Also the EcoBoost V6 and their regular base V6 gas engine.
The Econoline van is very soon to be history...
