The Cool Cat Heat Pump A/C used in Roadtreks is manufacturered and sold by Dometic.
According to Dometic - "The Cool Cat Heat Pump, is a non-rooftop line tailored for smaller units offering 10,000 BTU’s of cooling capacity and 8,200 BTU’s of heating that fits inside a coach.".
According to Dometic, the Cool Cat can cool the interior of the van to at least twenty degrees below the outside temperature. The time required to do this depends on whether the van is parked in the direct sun, and whether sunlight is streaming in the Windows.
Like most Roadtrek owners, I keep reflectix covers on my side windows to reduce the heat load, and have found that when parked the Cool Cat has no problem cooling the interior.
In fact, as reported in an article at Roadtrekker, there can be a problem with the Cool Cat cooling the inside down too much during the night.
The interior of the van is a relatively small space and the 10,000 BTU CoolCat is pretty efficient.
That said, if you are parked in direct sun in 100+ temps, it's going to get hot inside almost any motorhome.
