Amen! It makes no sense to me neither.
Well I drive a work day, so out west with a two hour time change I will be starting out at 3:30 to 4 am. I will start my coach and it is louder. With a resonator and big engine and air up and idle for ten mins to bring in the slides and disconnect the electric. I am sure you would be happy then. Also don't forget I got in about 8 pm and set up a bit. Maybe you might understand why a rest stop or wal mart look better to me. Also no trees or rocks or pits to look for and tight roads or trucks parked in the roadway behind the unit for the night. I remember that three of us came into a campground at 11 pm and had all our lights on trying to find the spaces. Not a well marked place and it was just for the night too. My buddy had to fine a presentation to a fifth wheel group the next morning then we had a bus rally starting the next day at a bigger place.
Oh and I travel in the winter and many places are not open even in Maryland and Virginia.
Agreed. I have seen countless posts over the years, blasting RV'ers who pull into a campground late at night, disturbing everyone! And, by the same token, blasting one who gets up early, runs the engine, etc. waking everyone up.
Which do you want?
If I am stopping at 4 pm, and leaving at 9 AM the next day, I will almost always get a campground. However, when just traveling, making miles, it makes no sense to me to have to pay, fit into a slot, etc, etc, etc. when I am stopping at 9PM, and leaving at 5am! Do you REALLY want me next to you? LOL
