I have spent many nights in freeway rest areas, some in the front seat of the car, some in the bed of the truck, and some in a motorhome or truck camper.
I have spent several nights in truck stop parking lots.
I don't understand why so many people have to bring Walmart into the discussion when there are so many parking lots to stop in and get some rest. Just what IS the fascination with Walmart?
But, since I also mentioned the place, I have never spent the night in one of their parking lots.
I even spent the night once on a short stretch of the old highway (Hwy 93) in Northern Nevada. It turned out I was only about a mile from the one and only rest area between Wells and Jackpot!
When it is darker than the inside of a black cow, and your eyes just won't stay open anymore, and you have no idea just exactly where you are, you will stop and sleep anyplace you can find!
