Check your local zoning laws. I would be very surprised if you are allowed to park anything that close to a property line. It would be a major bummer to find out after you cut off your overhang to discover that you can't legally park that close to the neighbor's lot. Sure, you have done it for years, but this neighbor's boyfriend may be out to cause problems, and if he finds out the are zoning restrictions, you would be out of luck. In our area, a recreational vehicle can not be parked within 6 feet of any lot line.
Incidentally, a second option would be to lower your drive, so the motorhome will sit below the overhang, rather than next to it.
