We don't have the option of storing at home. We use an indoor storage facility, where they run the generator monthly. When we want to go out, they plug in the fridge the day before inside, then switch to gas when it is moved outside for is to pick up.
It's costly, but we like that it is indoors, out of the sun and locked up. Since it's also an RV repair place, we can have maintenance done conveniently.
