My brother in law cut his eaves and parks right next to his house.
His neighbor said he was cool with him taking that 1 ft on his driveway but B-I-L didn't want that to become an issue so he pony'd up, did the work, and his neighbor is still very friendly with him.
Maybe just me, but if I couldn't park at my house I simply wouldn't own it. I like to eliminate/prevent monthly expenses even if that means investing in a long term solution.
