There is a latch on the rear door, passenger side to open the doors. It is a tight squeeze because of the shower wall. To open, face the doors, reach in with your left hand and pull. My knuckles hit the wall but it can be done. It would be better if the handle could be pulled down. I agree with davydd that the cargo box should be always swung out when in the van.
